Since getting internet, ...joining YA's, Second Life, ...and other stuff on the pc. I have found myself watching increasingly less television. To a point where I'll be lucky to view an hours T.V. a day!
Can't really say I'm missing much!
Anybody else feel the same way?

Yes. TV is just so poor. Daytime is full of sell your heirloom/auction/car boot programmes with crap puns, evenings all property selling programs/house/DIY cack. Add to this a splash of examining each others cack and food, diets and obsession with celebrity, I have nearly given up.And I haven't even mentioned the soaps. How rubbish and unreal are they?????
And as for Saturdays- Help!!!!!. Who wants to watch 2 different singing/stage programmes. Bring back World of Sport. Bring back the saturday evening blockbuster movie.
Or go to the pub.

I haven't watched much television for the last 6 or 7 years. I really don't miss it that much, but it has nothing to do with how much time I spend online -- mainly because I have only had a computer for like 2 years.
Anyhow, I don't even get any channels on my tv and I refuse to pay for cable or satellite, so I just watch movies or tv shows on dvd if I want to see something, but I find that I often go for several weeks never turning the darned thing on.
You are right, I can't say that I'm missing much either!

I very rarely watch TV, only the news and that´s always bad news. You find lot´s of information here & most of the people are nice. I´ve only just started to use the computer, thought I was to old for this kind of thing. So if you enjoy being here don´t worry to much about the TV

i think it relies upon the place you're from. i'm initially from New Zealand and does not evaluate their information biased in any way by any ability, in spite of the shown fact that they don't have particularly as plenty coverage of international information. Now i'm in Europe and basically incredibly subject gazing the 1st quarter-hour or so of BBC. After the optimum information, they do tend to enable greater opinion creep into their comments on information that has been occurring for a mutually as. I turn CNN if there is in simple terms somewhat information i'm already pronounced approximately as their coverage is generally good, like Obamas inauguration and a pair of goods they did on Gaza. i don't think of newspapers are that much less biased or depressing nonetheless.

Yup, I think you can gain a different perspective of what is important in life. But just remember being on the computer isnt everything. Life must have some kind of balance. But yeah watching television can be pretty useless.

Its sometimes on in the background for my son or Mrs ,but i never have a clue whats going on or what programme is even on,but there again if you look through the TV listings there is nothing on much and the satelite channels are just full off repeats.

Give up on TV never. It's not as good as say a couple of years ago before all the stupid reality started showing up. But the computer will never replace it in my life. In fact I'm thinking of getting rid of the damn thing.

ehh, i could probably live without it.
but i do watch it before i go to sleep and i watch like one tree hill, american idol and couple other stuff.
not much though, i spend more time online and watching videos on youtube so i guess that makes more sence.
i watch dvds too once in awhile, but i prefer going to the movies when i see something i like.
the internet is definitely new generation..

I've been online for about 5 years (on a computer anyway) and my tv viewing is next to non existent now. There's nothing to switch it on for these days anyway.

I mainly use it as a backdrop while otherwise occupied .. but the so-called "list" of things I used to watch is dwindling . The quality is getting lower all the time . .
