I see that A-Rod is finally heating up, and Matsui is back and better than ever. But.....COME ON NOW! They are in LAST PLACE!
When are we going to see the billion dollar franchise get another World Series ring??
(I am a Yankees fan living in New England, so Yankees haters please dont respond to this question. I get enough BS about it at home!)

Well, I am happy to see there are lots of fans that still support the Bronx Bombers! As for the Yankees haters, without you guys life would be boring indeed!
By the way, I cant stand Curt Schilling, didnt like him when he was in AZ either -but even I, A DIEHARD YANKEE FAN, knew the blood on the damn sock was real and was his!
Thanks to everyone who responded, lots of love to the Yankees people, and everyone else-good luck with your teams. I love the game!

I feel for ya. I live here in WA and I too am hated for being a Yanks fan. Stick to your guns though, no other team has 26 championships.

Boy, if the Yanks are gonna win the World Series this year they are going to have to have less problems with injuries. A-Rod is VERY HOT right now , I think he'll even break the yearly home-run record this season, but A-Rod alone cannot alone carry the Yanks to glory.

They desperately need pitching help. Wang pitched great his first start but the bullpen blew it. Their bullpen has improved since last year but they can't blow games like this. Boston has a very strong pitching staff, although I wouldn't be too hyped up about Dice-K. I believe the Yanks will need Clemens to return to the Yanks for a strong World Series chance.

The Yanks offense is stacked. Even if they get a couple injuries, their bench is strong and can help carry the load. Their offense can definitely make up for some pitching mistakes, but not the ones they're committing now!

Overall, I don't think you need to be too worried. They have the money to pick up a key player before the deadline and the Red Sox play terrible with injuries. Their offense is the best in the MLB, but they will need pitching help. I still am a firm believer that this team is strong enough to win a World Series this year. Mr. October will provide in the playoffs and this is the year A-Rod does it too. This slump will soon be over and the Yanks will be back to their winning ways once again.

I don't need to go back 106 years. I need only go back 10 years ago to 1998, and again in 1999 and again in 2000. That was the last dynasty in baseball. Every other team after that has been a parody at best. That is the thing with being such a great and historic franchise is that you cannot exclude the Yankees from any discussion concerning the best team in baseball. Who is the clear favorite all the time, 24/7, 365? The Yankees. Why? Because we earned that right over the past 100 years. We simply are at the top of the baseball world looking down at the next closest competition.. St. Louis with 10 rings. Can you blame Yankee fans for being so proud and I admit a little arrogant. We earned that right. We don't go through 86 year droughts because we have management dedicated to constantly winning. 12 straight seasons in the playoffs doesn't come from lack of hard work. And each year some ESPN analyst predicts that the Yankees are going to win it all. Why? Because we are the Yankees. So haters drink up, the haterade is cold and sour. Little piece of information you might not be aware of. Add up all the championships the Patriots, the Celtics and the Red Sox have and it STILL doesn't surpass 26. That is how good we are. In the end all fans say that their team is the best. You wouldn't be a true fan if you didn't think your team wasn't going to win or wasn't the best. At least when you are a Yankee fan, saying your team is the best doesn't sound crazy.. because 99.9% of the time.. it's true.

Being a Red Sox fan and even more a fan of the game I have to answer this question. This is not the year for the Yankees, their pitching will be their downfall. The have probably the toughest line up in the game especially 1-5 but their starters are basically all injured. Wang comes back this week which will help, Mussina is due back as well but he is up there in age and has been inconsistent to start this year. A bigger concern with their pitching is their bullpen, they have a horrible relief staff that has costthe a few games already. Rivera is a great closer and he has blown 2 save but he will be back to form but the set up guys look very week and could be the biggest problem the team has.

Yankees always make a run thats inevitable. Will we do it this year, at this moment i say no. What we need is pitching hopefully hughs becomes are solid 5 and we can pick up clemens here in about a month and get pavano out of there. What a rotation that would be...Clemens, Wang, Pettitte, Mussina, and Hughs. Just give it time we will get butts into first after the all star break.

Are the Yankees going to do it this year? No.

Because outside of Petitte and maybe Wang, their pitching staff just isn't any good (Wright and whoever they call up may turn into serviceable pitchers), but their bullpen has already had a lot of work and it's only about 20 games into the season. They're not going to have a lot of problems scoring (that is fact), but the pen is going to be chewed up once September or October rolls around.

I'm a Sox fan but I will respectfully answer your question. A-Rod is the best player in the MLB right now- no doubt about that. However, he is only ONE player... Yankees pitching isn't too great this year but they are strong batting-wise. Eventually, they'll pick it up and be among one of the top teams in the division. I think they will be a strong contender for a World Series title but I'm going to be rooting for my Sox

Yankees should start by getting more reliable mid relievers. Most of their mid relievers are unproven and giving up a ton of runs on top of their below par starting pitching (which should get better once injured players return like Mussina)

Cmon when the Yanks score 8-6 runs almost every other game and still cant win its all about the pitching. And I have nothing to say about Rivera... maybe hes injured and no one knows it...

We need pitching bad. Hopefully Hughes will give us a shot in the arm to get us over the next few weeks until we get healthy. If not we need to make a trade for a starter. It must be tough to be a Yankee fan up by you. Go Yankees.

Sorry Gooooooooooooooooooooo RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!
Yankees Suck. A billion dollars can't by a World Series Ring. A-Rod can hit a home run but he'll never see a ring. The pitching is old and decrepit.
