i dont have a cd for it,a nd my computer wont install it by itself

Easy, pop along to www.hp.com and hit the "Software & Driver Downloads" button on the left, halfway down, then click the download drivers and software button and enter "deskjet 3845" in the search box, click the right arrow beside box, select your operating system, etc etc etc
it will walk you through downloading the correct driver.

is it an hp if so goto www.hp.com go to the dowload drivers area
type in the model number then pick operating system download the file
