Well, we'd have trouble joining hands across the oceans.

Human beings are greedy for power. We are plagued by the scarcity mentality. Some people fear that if they give up war, they will be giving up their power. They fear that power is scarce and ending war is somehow a sign of decrease in power. Some people fear that peace will result in everyone being equal or that accepting peace is the admission of defeat. This is why world peace appears to be an illusion at this time. However, many people do not realize that peace is more empowering than war.

The urge for peace among 'all humans' is lacking becaus of our own interests and that's the constraint in 'we' all joining hands for world peace.
However, if 'we' = 2 (you and me), then we can join hands for world peace and begin with some programmes to propagate it by adding others to the group of 'we'.

Your Question itself has the answer..Yes we are Human Beings but do we feel that all r same..Even today u can find countries were racism is at its worst state.. That`s may not be visible but that`s the harsh truth..Even in the so calld U.S and European countries no white will sit along wit an Indian or African in a bus or train unless they know u..We can join hands but not every1 is ready to lift their hands for them to join.. And i think even if we join hands we can see only many of hands covered with bloods.America started war in iraq 2 brin peace but know wat sort of peace is really goin on in there.. The same applies to Israel,Srilanka and so many countries..No country has real intention of world peace..It`ll not be of no use that we speak of it but the governments must have some real intentions of providing us with everlasting peace...If that happens then ur and my and all our dreams abt world peace will come true....Really expectin that day...Really

Because once peace is gained then things are really gonna be bad...Biblical bad... (not philosophy i know...sooooo)
Not all people agree that peace is the answer. Remember we are all raised differently, believe in different religions and have different cultures and traditions. We all have a "right" and "wrong"
Heck just look at the answers here on yahoo answers, so diverse and varied. And while not really wrong, some i cannot agree with because i know better, at least from how i have been raised and what i have been taught, i assume that i know better.
Until we all agree on following ONE leader, one philosophy, one way of life, we will all be divided.
(not philosophy again, ignore if you will)
And when we do get ONE leader...all things will go...to heck!

As theoretically sound as that is... people are .. people. It is of human nature to feel suspicion and to sense danger. Truth is that many "world leaders" really don't have the "best end for the people" as a primary goal, and because of that, other leaders are wary of opening up such a liability for attack. However, I must mention that the world does indeed seem to be nearing the point of "no constraint."

Because too many people who have power and wealth now would not have it in a world of peace. If I'm not afraid of my neighbors, do I need army, navy, police, the government bureacracy that feeds off that cash flow? Reread the preamble to our constitution, then read Kurt Lewin's "Report from Iron Mountain on the Possibility and Desirability of of Peace." Shoot, we wouldn't even need national boundaries, nations, flags -- we'd all be just people raising our food and our families.

Have any Idea how gross a human can be?? No one's joining hands because you don't know what everyone has been doing with their hands!
now seriously.....No one is trying for world peace because there's too much testosterone and not enough estrogen in the world!
