I'm visiting Chicago soon and will be staying at the Congress. Any idea of what I should expect there?

The congress Hotel is in downtown Chicago known as the Loop area. Downtown is divided in two.. the Loop and the Magnificent Mile. Both are lively but one is feels better at night. The loop goes dead after about 7ish while the Mag mile is happening all day. The congress is across from the parks, close to restaurants, in front of the museum, not around alot of after 7pm places.

It's an older hotel, but pleasant enough, and right along Michigan Avenue - not in the heart of the action (though there's an excellent sushi restaurant called Oysy at 9th and Michigan), but right along the bus route that will take you up Michigan Avenue to the Magnificent Mile (the #3 bus). Also, the Congress is very close to all the major parks, like Grant Park, and Millenium Park, and the Art Institute is not far. So it's a decent choice.

IT'S AN OLD HOTEL , BUT NICE. IT'S CLOSE TO EVERY THING AS IT'S DOWN TOWN, THE LAKE IS ALSO VERY CLOSE. TRY AND GET A HIGHER FLOOR , FACING EAST. YOU WILL LOVE THE VIEW ; BUT BEST OF ALL YOU WILL BE IN CHICAGO, AND YOU WILL WANT TO GO BACK TIME AND TIME AGAIN . ENJOY.
