Put yourself in this situation: you get into an altercation with somebody, it seems small at first but then you notice that the person is a hot head and has a "thug" mentality. What do you do when you hear that this person has pulled a gun on people that you know that have had a problem with him on more than one occasion. Going as far as shooting at their houses. You see him and he makes rude comments to set you off, knowing that he's pulled a gun before, What do you do?

Dang, I'm sorry you're in that situation. I'm sure it's scary. The best thing to do is to just stay as far away from him as you can. It might sound like something you heard when you were in elementary school, but when he tries to down talk you, just be the bigger person and walk away from it. Don't let him get to you. He obviously has deep problems, and for your own safety, it's best to steer clear.

Keep your cool and be the grown person in handling the situation like an adult. If he has a problem with you address him with the situation in a fashion that he won't get defensive. Let him know that you are not trying to have any problems with him but would like to figure out a way to resolve the tension between you two OR you could just avoid him all together and do nothing.

I believe there's still the "3 strike" law in effect....where 3 gun related convictions get you life in prison. If he's harrassing you, report it to the police and get a restraining order. It always puzzles me that some people won't involve police in certain circumstances. Chances are, the cops know him well...and the more times he goes before a judge, the harder it will get for him to remain a memeber of free society.
Don't "F" around if you're going through this.

I would apologize sincerely. It may mean swallowing your pride, but it's better than lying on the ground choking on your blood.
Then again, people shouldn't just give in to thugs and allow them to continue being thugs. I'd inform the police and request an order of protection. That's just me. I know a lot of people would not want to damage their masculine image like that, but I say "f*** masculinity". I'd rather see the Earth turn one more time.

avoid this person if at all possible.
If you think he might be after you, then go call a friend and stay at their house, but make sure nobody knows you are staying at the friend's house.
Alternatively, if you cannot stay at a friend's house, you should try to stay in large crowded areas, as an attacker is not usually prone to attack if you stay in a large crowded area where many people can see you.
Of course if you think you are in immediate danger, you should call your local police department.

Run as far as you can. Seriously, stay away from him, do not provoke him and do not allow yourself to get "set off". Avoid him at all costs but dont act really afraid of him or he might get crazy. Your health and well-being is far more valuable than arguing with him. Stay away!!

Avoid him. Don't let his words get to you. Walk away from him. I doubt you see this guy anywhere other than school. Do NOT let him intimidate you. Let him know you don't give a crap about his thug mentality, his arrogance, his "crew," or his speech impediment. No reaction is the best reaction.

I'd get down with the mothef*cker. He starts mouthing off, nah f*ck that, i'd crack the fool right in his jaw, and drop him. He starts reaching in his pocket, sh*t my blade is out already, and im stabbing.
Oh he was reaching for his inhaler!! Oops My bad!! **** he shouldn't have come up to me running his mouth off cause i dont play like that. Cause fools here on the EAST SIDE dont give a f*ck.

well its a warning. if he is mouthing off that would be hard to ignore but you have to if you dont want trouble. just leave if you can. i think if you need a gun you are a coward, i would be afraid of a coward they are irrational.
example: virginia tech shooting....
