geothermal energy is growing. its not as large as wind because of cost. wind turbine technology is relatively mature and there are alot of players out there who can bring these projects to life. geothermal is tricky compared to wind and so it attracts less interest, but recently preople have started to look at it seriously as the technology matures. water, in terms of hydro electricity from dams is all but tapped out in most places. energy from tides & waves is beginning to gain a lot of interest, but its a young crowd in terms of number of projects built/experience gained with this technology. and of course there's solar which would be awesome if someone would just find a way to cut the current best achievable cost in half, then it'd be fairly comptetive with modern combined cycle gas generation.

You might hear about heat pumps when you go to buy a house. That is the closest you will get to geothermal energy in most places because you need volcanic vents for true geothermal energy.
