I have had it a couple time when traveling in the U.S.
The food was alright, but not a good example of the almighty American Hamburger. I know the Americans have much better Burger places, have been to quite a few. So why does Jack in a box succeed in well business, I always thought because it is cheap? Would this be fair to say?

It is all in the burger........and a wee bit in the name....the jack in the box was big in the 60s- early eighties. alll of those baby boomers that used to eat that crap with their dates are still around and now have money - dere you go! And you did not have to pay some wall street analyst 300K to check dis out 4 you as I did the **** for free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is Jack in the Box Popular ?
Uh..maybe because they make it when you order it and they don't make it before hand..so the food is nice and hot. :)
They have variety covering all the bases from Stir Fry Bowl , Egg Rolls to Taco something to Burgers and Fries.
They even have seasoned curly fries. Not many places have curly fries. :)
Who wouldn't come there for burgers but hey if you feel like not having a burger its alright to come and get something else. Not many other places offer that same option. :)
variety sells and gets customers in the door. :)

Its not because the food is great..I like it because they are open 24 hours a day and not matter what time I go there...I can order anything from the menu..breakfest or lunch. They don't put limits on what I am craving at that specific moment and they NEVER EVER tell me to pull around the front to wait for my food after I already went thru the drive thru..That annoys me to no end..Its fast food...you go thru the drive thru and they still make you go park in front because your in the way of making things move FASTER for them.

I think the name attracts people. Also the food is inexpensive. It is not my favorite place to eat a burger. Fuddruckers is the best for hamburgers.

Well if you have children's, they usually lead you to a jack-in the box, they just like the clown, and they will eat anything as long as it a hamburger, but yes i have had better.

i like that jack in the box serves breakfast around the clock, which is hard to find in my neck of the woods, the food isn't top notch, but it is convenient to have something available for the late night munchies.

to me, jack in the box is pretty nasty. i hate their food. but i'm guessing its so popular because of its cheap price and convenience!
