Akon is from Senegalese,Africa...when he blew up...idk. and he is everywhere u turn! lol, i cannot change my channel w/o seeing one of his videos or hearing his songs on the radio. but he is kinda cool...he has a nice voice.

He used to make songs long ago, but now he's like Nelly Furtado, who also made good songs before. They both went and made songs that the media actually wanted, so I guess that's how they both got here, where they are now.

I'm not sure. He has lots of hit songs these days. On the radio yesterday he was called a modern-day super star. It's so true also.

the music industry pushes something as soon as it gets popular to milk as much money out of it as they can, and when people get tired of it, the industry leaves the artist on the curb and jump on someone else. akon case in point.
