So America is taking Iraqi oil? What is wrong with taking their oil to pay for the supplies we need to liberate them from the terrorist activities, and to rebuild their nation?

I am retorting towards ideas of Iraq being a war for oil.

Not saying I trust the idea, but keeping conspiracy theories fresh in my head cause I love debunking them.

do you really think any of the proceeds of any oil that leaves Iraq just goes into the US treasury?...It goes to the corporations that shipped it.

You as an American will never see Iraqi oil lower your price at the pump, nor will it lower our bill for this war. Bush is not in Iraq for your benefit, but for the benefit of the likes of Exxon/Mobil. BushOilCo has arranged for big Western Oil companies to have the contracts for future Iraqi Oil development. They will make the profit, and you will pay for the oil and for the soldiers and war necessary for them to get those contracts! Disgusting is it not. Bush does not care about you or the Iraqis and their freedom. What his family and friends want is to profit from the liquid gold, all at our exspense.

Obviously you've been mislead on what's happening back east. Over time, the US government has realized that the Persian oil reserves were the largest, most abundant sources of natural crude in the world. So naturally, they wished to capitalize upon it and sent contractors over to begin "persuading" the landowners to sell them their land for (if I remember the figures correctly) what would equal approximately 4 seconds worth of oil-derived profit from one average well.

Keeping that in mind, consider that the only reason we are over in Iraq at the moment is to protect that resource-why else would so many of today's government officials own enormous amounts of stock in the companies supplying that oil? Why did Bush Jr. team up with Cheney, former owner of Kellogg Brown & Root Services which is a Halliburton subsidiary?

Easy. War makes money. Government issues contracts, companies make huge money from said contracts, stock prices inflate to huge amounts, raking in (literally) billions of dollars a month in profits for those who own said stock. We're not in Iraq to liberate anybody, sorry to tell you. We're there to protect a resource which is doing little but lining the pockets of the most greed-consumed governance this world has known. Coming from the guy who swore in 2000 to "restore honor & integrity" to the White House, Bush has dug this country into one hell of a deep hole.

before this america was denied iraqi oil and iraqis selling oil in petro euros caused slight tremors in the US economy
the problem is america is using thier oil to rebuild their nation not by paying for it but buy selling it and using the money to rebuiold iraq not using american tax money which all goes to only military operations

So if we're taking their oil, how come I had to pay $3.37 a gallon the other day for a gas? It would be cheaper to fill my tank with milk!

What's wrong is that when Bush is in charge of the oil, we pay an arm and a leg for it.

I admire your cynicism more than i admire your naivete. So according to you, invading a nation and robbing it of its resources is ok? Interesting.

Have not heard of this so I can't give you details.

But do you think it is always better to both rob and kill people, instead of just killing them?
Is that what you are advocating?
