Otherwise how do they pay their rent & bills back home?

I think the ones that make the top 10, or 12 (however many do the tour) are getting paid something. I read it a few seasons ago and I can't find the article where an interviewer asked the same thing or I could quote that.

I think they get paid scale for their appearances and the Ford commercials. No idea when exactly they get it though.

I think they earn money for doing the jingles for Ford.
