We were told by a cop that it is best not to carry a pocket knife around all the time. He didn't say any specific reason but he said "trust me, it's best to leave it at home."

3 in for school or less than the distance from the bottom of your palm to the tip of your tallest finger, ( thats about it it doesn't work if your hand is really big but its a guestimate)
