If anyone could, please tell!

Also, as a side note, among my favorite novels are Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, and Gone With the Wind, by Margaret Mitchell. I also like the Harry Potter series and Eragon Inheritance Trilogy. Are there any books you can recommend for me? :)

Try Austen's Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Emma, and Persuasion. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte would be good too. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien is good, as is The Wizard of Earthsea series by Ursula LeGuin. Austen and Bronte deal with nineteenth century British society, and Tolkien and LeGuin deal with the magical world (fantasy). Happy Reading!

I love the Eragon and Harry Potter!!! Warriors is pretty good. It's a series about warrior cats. There are 13 books out right now, plus a comic.

While Potter is a good read, very much as is the Tolkien trilogy, my current favorite read is Thomas More's Utopia, always followed by Machiavelli's The Prince for contrast and Erasmus' The Praise of Folly for context. Throw in a bit of Rousseau and you should be on the road to critical thinking.

On the sword/sorcery side, try Madeline L'Engle's book "A Wrinkle In Time", and the C.S. Lewis "Chronicles of Narnia" series. Both are time-worn classics.

On the classic romance/human condition side, try "Love In The Time of Cholera" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and W. Somerset Maugham's "Of Human Bondage".

You have to read the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon...you'll be hooked with the first one...read all six can't wait for the 7th...by the way that's where I got the name Sassenach. Also try Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet...I'm almost finished with that one...great book! Good luck!

*The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - Mark Twain

It relaxes me, makes me think, makes my heart ache and makes me laugh all at the same time. Gotta love Twain, he was the sh!t.

And if you like fantasy, I'm picky about fantasy. Very. So the only ones (besides the ones you mentioned) I can recommend with good conscious are:

*Songs of Earth and Power - Greg Bear

*The Night of the Solstice (book 1) - L.J. Smith
*Heart of Valor (book 2) - L.J. Smith

Both stories suck you in quick and don't let go.

I recommend "The Language of God" by Francis S. Collins, head of The Human Genome project. Dr. Collins presents a scientist view of evidence for belief.
