Rbsb, interpret "complacent" as you wish.

The reason I ask is that I remember being surprised when I was told that the population of China was 1.3 billion. It wasn't long ago that they were 1.2 billion.

It seems that I (and maybe others too) do not recognise the steadily growing influence of China.

Please elaborate, do you mean in terms of human rights violations? Yes in fact people probably are. But it's one of those things that is not a popular front burner topic at the moment.

People only know what the US tells them. What the internet tells them, the news corps, whatever. Some people actually think they are original about their beliefs in America, or their rare news site they go to everyday.

Fact is though all American media coes from about 6 sources. No matter who they are.

This is one of the reasons we are complacent when it comes to China.

They have a soldier for every man, woman and child we do in this country. They are making money like water and are about to vastly control the oil industry. I think we should just let things be the way they are and not piss them off. You think terrorists from the crap whole middle east are bad. Try a billion soldiers.
