-10 but this really isnt dining out. btw you dont need to have it say minus positive 8 just have it be -2 - 8 that makes it more clear as signs are not as close the only way it would be 6 was if it was
-2 - -8 which would make it -2 + 8 as a double negative equals a positive

Well just think of it as -2 plates plus 8 plates equals how much food?
