I live in the West Coast so it's a 2 hour difference from when it actually airs. I don't get to see it live I see it later. Also does voting count even 2 hours after the show airs in california?

That's a very good question. Not only is it frustrating for viewers, it results in some skewed voting tallies. Do you remember when they were commenting about how close the totals were?

A "chaos theory" research firm in Utah reported that the Idol results were artificially close because of course the phone lines can only accept so many connections. In essence, more popular contentants had many more votes blocked (people could not get through). Consequently, the votes came in at about the same rates for everyone.

Since there is no accounting firm monitoring the tallies, this a good way for producers to choose who they want on the next show. Producers tend to want to control everything in their quest for higher ratings.

Sorry, but I am a skeptic.

It has never been busy for me. If you wait more than the 2 hours after the show the number is automatically busy. They have two numbers now and I think this week, the numbers are good for 4 hours. You can always text too. Also double check that you are dialing the right number, that could have something to do with it.

The real question is:

What is the point of voting on American Idol?

It's just record companies squeezing you for extra money before selling you the CD with junky remixes in a cynical ploy to post ever increasing record profits while they claim the internet is destroying their income.

it is not always busy. it is still open 2 hours after, and if you vote at the end of the show (when it is showing the #'s again)
that is when we usually get through. we always get through, so just be patient with it

as long as you are still voting within the time frame they give you then just keep trying....after two hours (or whatever the show says) then it is automatically busy. but just keep trying to get thru. and i suggest you start voting for blake cuz he is amazing.

Please keep trying! I think they wait for your votes to come in anyway. I really want her to stay but I am worried. I was able to vote for her 25 times. That can't be good!
