The Oregonian frequently runs ads for delivery people. However, like the soda jerk and the industrial child-factory workers, the delivery jobs have gone the way of the grown-ups, and they now prefer someone with a car that can cover more distance in a smaller amount of time.

You could always call them to find out.

If you are 14, I would suggest getting together with one or two of your friends and using your computer to print out fliers advertising yourselves for lawn work. Put the fliers on the doors of your neighbors and people within a few blocks of you. You could make some serious money doing that. Also, you might want to offer to do odd jobs (painting, handiwork, etc).

If you've been a good student, some teachers will give you a nice recommendation towards being a camp leader for the summer or a youth internship.

I don't think that there is such a job any more. Liability issues and child labor has reduced that option by quite a bit. Most newspapers are now delivered by some haggard looking old guy driving around a beater (dented up car) just before sunup with the window down and a stack of papers on the front seat. (and usually driving on the wrong side of the road to be able to throw the papers out the drivers window.)

I would suggest creating your own job. Cutting lawns (grass never stops growing) or washing cars (always dirty in a City that rains every other week) are easy to do and with some flyers and footwork you can earn $5 to $15 a pop. (more for lawns.. less for cars). Dog walking is becoming a popular (and lucrative) profession also... no great training except to keep the dogs from eating each other - owners tend to frown on that).

good luck in whatever you try...
