I guess it depends on the kind of dancing you want to do. Almost everybody will agree that a hardwood floor is best for most kinds of dance. I do not like to dance on either a concrete floor or a floor that is tile over concrete. I pay the price in leg and knee pain for days afterwards.
I want to be up front and say that I do not like the parquet floor dance squares that a lot of hotels and restaurants put together when there are dances or wedding receptions there. The big problem is that the squares do not fit together well. Parquet flooring is okay if the whole floor is parquet flooring.
Ballet dancing requires a different kind of floor than what I would want to use for ballroom or tango. The surface of a ballet floor tends to be "sticky." Most smooth dancing requires a floor that is not sticky on the surface, basically because that type of dancing involves a gliding step.
I think most people agree that some kind of "floating" floor is nice to have. A dance floor must be forgiving. A floor must be able to absorb the shock. It is nice to have the feeling that you are "dancing on a cloud."

If you are talking about the quality of the floor, then the standard required on stages for the safety of ballet dancers. It is layered to absorb shock without being too springy. It is also rather expensive and almost as good is plywood over felt carpet padding with hardwood laid over that.

Here are a couple of sites that have dance flooring. I have used or sampled most of them. I would recommend any of them. You have to decide which is best for your needs.
