Do you find sagittarius people VERY selfish?

Question

Seems like they never do anything nice unless they benefit from it in some way or if its very convenient for them. They seem like they don't care about others at all... not even their own families. They care about what people can do for them, but not about the people. I just don't like how they charm you until your hooked then turn around and blow you off. They just use people and only give if they have to, but never out of genuine careing for others. They often don't fully commit in relationships because commitment gets in the way of their selfish needs. Am I right? Why are they like this? They always seem like such nice people at first.

Not to generalize, but this has been my experience.

I've never found Sagittarius to be selfish at all. They've got a humanitarian element in them & are always up for a good time, as long as they can be around others. The humanitarian side isn't as strong as other signs like Aquarius or Pisces, but all Fire Signs are generous in some ways. I'm a Leo & am pretty generous.

You've obviously had bad experience with a Sagittarian or two, but they're not all the same. Two people born under the same sun sign will not be the same just because they're both Sagittarians, or Leos, or whatever the case may be. Astrology is very misunderstood, which is probably why this topic falls under ''Entertainment'' when it really should be under ''Science''.
People's personalities are not solely governed by the sun sign they were born under. In fact, the sun sign represents a person's outer personality, the side that other people PERCEIVE them to be like. A person's true, inner pesonality is determined by the moon sign, which can be worked out by a birth chart.
For example, I am a sun sign Sagittarian with a Taurus moon sign. So my outer personality has Sagittarian qualities, but my inner self, my emotions, are more like Taurus.
Then there is the person's rising sign (the constellation that was rising in the horizon at the exact time of birth), and then where all the planets of the solar system were situated at the exact time of birth.
All of these details go together to make a complex individual birth chart which more accurately describes a person's character.

So no, not all Sagittarians are how you described in your question.

Sagittarians ARE commitment phobic. However, it doesn't mean that we won't commit - we just tend to do it later in life. We are notorious adventurers, travelers and lovers of anarchy & chaos. We don't like to be tied down until we've done all that we can possibly do in life. Sagittarius is the most independent of all the signs. As for selfishness, there are selfish people in every sign however, the sag loves to give and has a huge heart. Our faults (and sometimes assets) lie in our frankness, spontenaity and sometimes careless way we handle others. Sagittarians are so blunt and enjoy others that are as well that we just don't understand why and how we unintentionally hurt others when we tell them EXACTLY how we feel. You'll get no sugar-coating from a Sag so we often come off as callous. But you'll never meet a more fun loving, try anything once, always up for a challenge sun sign.

I know how you feel, I currently have a grudge against one. He had no friends and I took him in and he stole all my friends and turn them against me. Now I'm left alone with no one, heck he even moved states because of his guilt, happened 3 years ago and I still have an intense grudge. They are so fake and only want to talk to you when they have no one. Sun in sagittarius and mercury in sagittarius= the worst.

The sagittarius people that I have met are like that. It could be because I am a scorpio and we don't get along, but I try to be friends and they always end up annoying me since they only want what is best for them. I have found that a lot of times they will only call you if they need something, someone to talk to, etc. and they can be horrible in commitments because they have a problem with the relationship and don't care about the feelings of their partners. If I don't say hi, even if it is because I don't see them, they start to freak out and wonder why I am mad at them. I have heard them complain because they weren't being helped the way they wanted to (ex. one was complaining that the athletic trainer wasn't giving him a massage to loosen up his shoulders) or get what they want. They are the one sign that I am the most hesitant to get into a relationship with and would most likely avoid due to the fact that I feel that it is the one sign I will never be able to trust. There are numerous stories of people cheating and I have read in a book called "Sexscopes" that the sagittarius man is the most likely in the whole zodiac to cheat.

I have a cousin who is one and she wouldn't help her grandmother, who had just gone to surgery, get groceries or go to doctor's appointments even though my cousin lived right next door. I live 2 hours away, but I still made my way down there and I would do anything for my friends and family. At least the ones I have met, seem really selfish.

I have just experienced this first hand and I am heart broken. I have been dating a sag man for two years. I never went to his house never met his family never really had sex. And never saw him on the weekends. His job gets slower in the summer. We r both in our 50s. When I text him about still not seeing him on the weekend and I talk to him about other things haven't changed yet. He text me back and tells me best if we do not see each other until I can commit to the weekends and other areas. Where did he get that from. I just told him thongs have to change. He took the cowards way out. I am allowed to express my feelings without fear of him breaking up with me. I did nothing wrong. I guess he does not care and want to salbege what we had and discuss things like adults. I am sad angry heart broken. What do I do

I am a Pisces woman and have attempted to have a relationship with a Sag man to no avail. He is inconsiderate and not dependable. He is selfish and thinks of no ones feelings other than himself. When I try to communicate with him, he verbally assaults me by saying I "love conflict". He NEVER feels the need to say that he is sorry for anything at all. What was I thinking? My Father was a Sag and my Mother was Pisces, and she ended up committing suicide, it WAS NOT a happy union. Some signs are just NOT supposed to attempt to have a romantic relationship.

I can't agree more. My gf is the exact same way. She doesn't care about my feelings at all. The decisions she makes are based solely on her feelings and if it's convenient or benefits her in some way. She will rarely do anything nice for me unless she has to such as birthdays, Valentine's Day, etc.

Wow, I'm sorry you've had such a bad experience with the Sag sign!

I can't speak for the Sag males, but the Sag women I know are very kind, good with children, giving, would practically do anything for anyone, they're the types that would clean someone else's house before they clean their own. They've never struck me as being selfish or conceited because they always seem naturally self-sacrificing. That's just the females I have known, though. And it depends what type of relationship each has with their extended families as to how close they are with them, but if we're talking immediate families, usually they are very protective. I think you have issues and I also think your trying to make every Sagittarius out to be what you want them to be because you have had bad relationships with Sagittarius. Until you meet every Sagittarius in the whole entire world then you cannot make this assumption, and you sure can't make it a fact. Just because you have had bad experiences with Sagittarius doesn't mean that their all like what you describe. Instead of putting every Sagittarius down you should try putting the certain individual down. You sound like nothing but a big cry baby and a complainer. You say your not generalizing but your being very hypocritical when you just put down "EVERY SAGITTARIUS". Like you said that was your experience alone so don't make it out to be everyone else's. By the way I'm a Sagittarius and proud of it too! I wouldn't change my sign for anything in the world, and I'm nothing like you describe. I give and do for people because it's something I choose to do without looking for anything in return. I commit to someone I know is truly for me and who I feel compatible with. If you met more of us we could prove you wrong in your generalization.
