Can anybody tell me how much the ATm fees are in Las Vegas? I am just trying to figure out if I should worry about it now and get travelers checks or just bite the bullet and use the ATM machines. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (My first time to Las Vegas so I do not know what to expect.)

Depends on who you bank with.
Check to see if your bank has ATMs in Las Vegas. I bank with Bank of America, and I know they have ATMs all over Vegas.
If not, then I recommend Traveler's Checks. ATM transactions are going to run you upwards of $4-6 per transaction, depending on your bank's fees and the fees of the ATM owner.
Cashier's Cages at any casino will cash your traveler's checks free of charge.

It depends on the bank, but to use the ones inside the casino, figure $3 a transaction, PLUS whatever your bank tacks on.
There are Bank of America ATMs all over the city, and I think a Washington Mutual few also. WaMu doesn't charge you on their end.

If you need cash, go to your bank (BofA, WellsfFargo Washtington Mutual) they all over Vegas.
If not, like the answers above, don't use hotel ATM machines in this town.
Pay the major bills with credit cards and have traveler checks (safer anyway).

Usually the withdrawal fees at the ATMs in the casinos are high. What I usually do is take a walk on the strip to a drug store (CVS or similar) and use the ATM there.

Perhaps the card is not activated. Some banks employ a security feature whereby the card will not work until you phone a certain number and have the card activated by answering security questions relating to the personal details on your application

Normally $5 in the casinos; but you can go to your branch bank if you are with a national bank such as Wells Fargo.
