Probly going through a growth spurt. Be happy that your son is growing up! I know its hard (I have a 20 month old and it makes me sad to see how quickly shes growing too) but you dont want him to stay a child forever do you? I keep telling my daughter to stop growing but she just wont listen! lol But seriously I want her to grow up and to be able to experience the joys that can come from growing up. Sure theres gonna be some hard times for her; everybody experiences hard times. But theres so much joy one can get out of life and I want her to experience as much joy as she possibly can and to know that life can be good.

The day I realised my son was taller than me (I'm also a mom), I was the proudest mom in the world. Maybe its different than being a dad, the tallness thing, but I was glad so maybe if necessary he could now fight my battles. LOL

No reason to feel sad about a physical trait you cannot control.
Instead, just continue showing your love and support for your son. This pays fantastic results years down the road of life.

Both my girls are taller than me...which isn't hard as I am very short. It is indeed a little sad when you have to look up a little more each month to see the face of your child.

i think you shouldve known he was going to be taller than you. My sister in law is 5'3, her husband is 6'2, her one son is already 5'8 at 15 yrs old, so imagine how she feels.
youre just upset hes growing into a man, height has nothing to do with it

Naw, I'm 5'6" and my son is 6'2". I walk around with my proverbial chest sticking out because he's growing so. You'll get over it.

Be glad that he's growing fast. Would you want him being a little tiny kid & gets made fun of every time? You know, to a boy, that can really lower his self-esteem right?

Why would you be sad? Were you hoping to have a 5'4 son for the rest of his life?
