Why are producers the first trophic level to benefit from the activity of decomposers?


this is the only question on my biology worksheet that i need help with. thanks to everyone who took the time and effort to help me!

They recycle nutrients locked up in dead organisms. Plants use these nutrients to grow, repair, and reproduce.

Producers like plants take their nutrients directly from the soil. Decomposers break down dead organic matter and put the nutrients back into the soil.
