My fiance is in the military and we are getting married in Vegas in 2 weeks, what are the odds that we would get an upgrade on our room, at no cost if we mention that we are there to get married, and have our honeymoon? Of all the hotel/casino's I've checked out, none of them mention that there is a military discount...just wondering. Thanks ahead of time!

The Stratosphere will give you a 10% discount with your military ID, just tell them you're military when you call reservations, then show the ID when you check in. The Stratosphere also has very nice suites for a reasonable price.

I prefer the "casino Suite"

The upgrade would depend more on your day of arrival and the hotels anticipated occupancy. Sunday through Thursday almost always gives you a much better chance of an upgrade than a Friday/Saturday arrival. >The $20 trick still works<

You might give the Luxor a try, they have an online promotion "PGET21" and some days the rates are pretty good. If you're looking for a very romantic suite I really like their Pyramid Spa Suites" >The Jucuzzi is built up into the corner of the room so that you have an awesome view of either the mountains or the strip<

You have nothing to lose by asking. Call the hotel you're staying in and ask for the name of the front desk manager and their fax number. Fax this person a letter explaining that you're getting married to a military member and that it's your first time in Vegas or first time staying at that hotel, and if there's anything they could do to make the trip more memorable or more special, you'd REALLY appreciate it. At the very least, you'd probably get a bottle of champagne or something.

2:1 (ha ha Vegas humor)

Actually most Casino/hotels, unless booked will work with you when you get there, have your Husband check in with you in hiding and tell him to say "he wants to surprise his wife" people in Vegas are people and love the great romance story they will do what they can, if it is available. The 'story' might not work but you never know.
It also will depend on which casino/hotel you are staying at and the time of year/month.
Good luck and Congrats.

military discount is usually the rack rate and sometimes it isnt even a discount, it may be a higher rate due to the governments per diem in that area..........upgrades are available upon availability, you may ask and get it and you may not, when you make the reservation ask for an upgrade in the comments

Just ask upon arrival at the hotel.
The old days, we were giving a $20.00 bill to the clerk and would usually accomodate you, but time are changed.
