The 1st time, a big bird swooped in between vehicles at a stop light. Another time, it swooped down infront of us, then to the side of us, then above us. Different birds but always big and only when us two are around each other. it's starting to become something that happens all the time and we're wondering if there's any folklore or tales or something to it!

i realize there are birds everywhere...the point is, what is happening, #1 only happens when us two are around each other, #2 it's always a huge bird, #3 it's always swooping or flying extremely close to us, #4 it's always a darker brown or black bird....it's not like,"oh, hey, look, there's a bird".....

The large brown/black bird does not seem good omen to me. I feel either of u have negative thought about ur life as if somebody predicted death or accident at a certain age and u r carrying that prediction in ur sub-conscious. Just cancel all negativity from ur mind by drinking some water and holding in ur mouth, utter " I cancel all negativity from my body and mind" and gulp down the water. Do it three times at a stretch. After that Pray to ur God to send divine positive energy " I invoke divine positive energy to fill the gap created by removal of all negativity from my body and mind and visualise that golden/white light is entering ur body and filling it with its glow and feel that it is over flowing ur body largely creating a secure aura for ur protection. Then thank the Lord for blessing u with his divine protection. Next time u see the bird just utter " I am blessed with divine protection". Do this exercise at least for 21 days continuously and everything willbe normal for u. Both of u should do this exercise.

In alchemy, birds are associated with the element Air and represent one’s spiritual height—high-soaring birds have a higher level of spirituality than low-swooping varieties.
Birds are often omens of bad luck
the raven has been closely associated with death, disaster, spells and magic.
Since you do not know what type of bird it is, it is hard to define the luck (good or bad) if any is occuring.
Also, I have found many bad luck pertaining to birds flying into a window of a home but not just flying in the sky.
hope you find out soon, it would be scaring me pretty good.

Is your friend a small mouse or fish, perhaps? If so, this is natural predation and is nothing of importance.
If not, you should look into bird mythology. Different birds have different meanings to different cultures. Since this only happens when you two are together it would seem to have a special significance. Interesting stuff, just be careful, birds can inflict serious pain.

good question it sounds like you two make up a strong force. not ot say that you make birds swoop or htat it is a negative event, but there is definately a sigifigance to this. As you are together take note of what and where you are going. I had a friend that everytime we would go out late at nite, we encountered a heavy fog. several times this happened.
youll have to decode it with your friend, but youll figure it out :)maybe they are telling you two that you make a good team and the sky is the limit if you two try to accomplish something together?

The only folk tales I remember anything like this, the maiden gets carried off by the bird and the hero has to go do a bunch of impossible tasks to get her back. If you aren't a girl and guy, I just don't know.

there are millions of birds that fly in the air everyday. I am sure that as likely as we are to see a human being everywhere we turn...the chances are the same when it comes to birds.....

I have read that many times loved ones who have passed on give us signs of their presence, and one of the signs is to send birds, butterflys, animals etc. in odd situations that would be noticed. Is there someone that you and your friend have in common that has passed on?

Is his name Spider Nancy?
If so, he annoyed his brother Charlie, who made an ill-thought-out deal with the bird goddess.
