I'm going on a first date with my best friend of 16 months, so naturally, he's seen me in different kinds of casualwear. Should I dress differently, since this is our first date?

I've never worn a skirt in public, or anything that shows my legs, so I'm thinking of wearing this Forever 21 low-cut v-neck halter top with a knee-length denim skirt and Sheikh wedges. If you're a fashion expert, self-proclaimed or not, lend me some suggestions, pretty please.

Are you trying to date the boy? I am assuming that you are if this is your first date. So if it were me in your shoes, I would do either the halter, or the skirt, not both together. That is too far out of the norm for your regular style. So as not to freake the poor guy out on the first date, you need to be you, but kicked up a notch, if you are trying to take things further.

I would either do jeans and the halter. Or the jean skirt and cute shirt. kind of half way between the two. I would personally wear the jean skirt and a nice top and the wedges.

you don't want to look like you are trying too hard, but you want to show that you are making an effort to be attractive to be different than your normal casual you are just a friend self.

If I were you I would not go completly different. If you never where low cut tops or things that show your legs I would'nt do both at the same time. One or the other. Do, however make yourself look like he's never seen you before, but if you are in things that you never wear you will be very uncomfortable and thinking about it the whole night. You are already going to feel weird about being on date with someone that you consider a friend. You dont want to be unfortable physically also.

I don't think you should stray to far from what you feel comfortable in. It sounds like a really cute outfit but I have a feeling he likes you just the way you are. I would maybe try the halter top with you favorite jeans and the wedges so he knows you a trying but not too hard. Just remember that he obviously likes you so don't get nervous now that it is a "date". Guys aren't very observant so I would try to do something totally different with your makeup or hair to make your face stand out. Have lots and lots of fun and don't stress out!

Where are y'all goin?
depends on the place...

if it's a formal party...dress classy and sophisicated and classy, wear along elgant dress with a pair of pumps and keep your makeup soft and light and wear danggling earrings.

if it's a "going to resturant to eat" type of thing, maybe wear that top you suggested at forever 21. [i love that store]. their clothes are so blod, bright, flirty, and colorful. makes me happy and wear a pair of skinny jeans and flats.

if y'all goin to the beach, you already know what to wear lol...bikini, well you dotn ahve to but whatever. ring a twoel, sunglasess, sunscreen, and flip-flops.

And maybe its about time to show off those pretty legs of yours! I mean, come' on..its springtime and almost summertime! You cant be hiding behind those long sweaty pants of yours forever.
