i want to do hair, nails, and makeup when im going off to college.

honestly it depends on your state as to how many hours you need....for myself i am a licensed nail tech and skin care specialist and it only took me 8 months to finish....so years are not the issue its the # of hours you are required to have in your state and the rest depends on you as to how soon or later you finish....if its something you REALLY want to do then you will go to class everyday to get those hours completed but if its not then you will take as long as you want to take.

in new york state, you need 1000 hours of training to take the state board test, generally done over 2 school years.
