The story would be entirely different and not as earth shattering.
The big thing about Empire Strikes Back was the revelation that Vader was Luke's father. That theme was so earth shattering because here was a really bad bad guy and yet you find out he's your daddy. Noooooooooo!!!
Anyway the theme about Vader being the father alone was the major theme for the rest of the movies. The only questions after Vader is established as the dad is what role did Obi-Wan play and who was the mom?
So with your question, I say no the movie wouldn't have been that great if it came out in order.

Not possible.
Movie one has too much cgi to have been made in 77 and if he did not make 4 in 77 then he would not have had the money to develop ELM and Lucas Films.

No one would have bothered to see the movies that were actually good. They'd be too sick of Star Wars after seeing the prequels that sucked.

Everyone would have loved the first three as much as they loved the last three and vise-versa. It would have been 4,5,6 that would have had all the speculation and criticism.
