My baby is going on 8 weeks old and I was wondering if the menthol/camphor vapors will bother his little resiratory system...my mom had me massage her arm with Icy hot and she was in my room when I did it..she wanted more and I think it was a little too much for even an adult(it was burning my eyes a little) I wore hair dyeing gloves but she insisted on putting the baby to sleep for me and he is laying on the arm that is covered with a towel but the vapors can still go through...HELP...she said it wont hurt him but not everything back in the old school is right these days

I'd say that it's not a good idea. Though, I can say that it won't permanently harm the baby or anything like that, it's just not a good idea. Try to keep STRONG smells away from the baby.

I mean, it won't hurt the baby, but just try to be more careful in the future. Don't feel bad about insisting on something (even with your mother) if you don't feel right! You are the protector of this little one and your instincts are usually right on target!

Ehh. If my husband and I were to quit we would have an extra 5 grand a year. I have known this for some time as I also know that smoking kills people. I will be the 3rd to chime in about needing an actual rehab type program to get me to quit. I believe there is a reason we all start smoking and usually until that reason is addressed then the desire and basically need to smoke is always there. Thinking about the lack of assistance for people wanting to quit pisses me off, raises my anxiety and makes me smoke more. :)

If adults can not stand the smell, what makes you think an infant would??
