Construct a 60-degree angle by constructing an equilateral triangle with a horizontal line as its base. Then construct a 90-degree angle on the same horizontal line, with its vertex at the same point as one of the 60-degree angles, and opening in the same direction. You now have a 90-degree angle which includes an already-constructed 60-degree angle, leaving a 30-degree angle between the 60-degree angle and the 90-degree angle. Bisect the 30-degree angle. The angle between the horizontal line and the bisector that you have just constructed measures 75 degrees. Here's a link on constructing an equilateral triangle (you probably know how, but maybe somebody else reading this doesn't and would like to know):

A better question would be how to construct the angle with a straight edge and a protractor.

1. Draw a line AB with a ruler - doesn't matter how long it is.
2. Put the point of a compass on A and the pencil on B.
3. Draw a circle.
4. Draw another circle with point on B and pencil on A.
5. With ruler, draw a line through circle intersections.
6. Label one of these intersections C and the point of
intersection of the two straight lines as D.
7. Angle DBC is now 60º.

I guess you'd just think about it.

If you drew a 90 degree angle, it would split into thirds at 30 degrees and 60 degrees. It would be the line you drew closest to the 90 degree mark.

Hope this helps.
