They're not 100% identical. They're clones basically, not exact copies.
Things are still individualized, skin pattern development such as fingerprints(all other skin related prints too from my understanding), retinas are different, skin pigmentation can differ.
Their development can also differ. Say one is sicker than the other due to exposure to a slightly different environment, he should develop to be a bit shorter. If one is an athlete he'll have more muscle, or more stretch.
Part of our variation comes from our personal development.

The term "identical" is deceiving in that Identical twins will still have different finger prints. Also, one is almost always slightly taller or heavier than the other. There are also what is called mirror twins. They appear identical except one will be left handed and the other right handed, they will part their hair on opposite sides, etc. There is no such thing as a twin that is exact in every way.

Identical twins have the same DNA, but are under different environmental influences, which cause differences in appearance, personality, and, like the previous person noted, things like fingerprints are different between twins.
This is the basis of twin studies, which compare rates of different traits and disorders between identical twins, determining what is genetically influenced versus environmentally influenced. I hope this helps.

Identical twins are called identical because to us looking at them they look alike.
But they have differences, even if we can't see them:
- fingerprints
- eye retina patterns and iris patters
- could have different birthmarks
- while their DNA is almost alike they will have some differences at the gene level

Bioligical variation is still applicable because identical twins are still unique in the fact that they are two seperate beings.
