No Jurassic Park in our generation. Don't believe everything you hear on TV. It's a terrible idea, we need tryannosaurii in this world as much as we need sabre-tooth tigers.

It COULD be a good idea. You can't learn much about behavior of animals that have been extinct for 65 million years. However, like one of the others has already said, it will be almost impossible to clone a T-Rex from DNA that old. I remember hearing somewhere they wanted to do the same with a mammoth, but nothing ever came of that . . . as far as I know.
Cloning so far is an imprecise science, and still has many kinks to be worked out. "Jurasic Park" or "The Island" is a long way off, if it happens at all.
Not only that, we have current species that are going extinct to worry about rather than ones that already are, and have been for a long time.
I wish future generations luck with this and several other problems that are currently beyond our scope to fix . . . at least so far.

Like NO WAY! I mean, have you seen those documentaries they've made? I mean, who wants that? A T-Rex...CLONED?! Heck no! I'd actually like to live NOT to see one. What's the use anyway? None! And it would be all aloone =[= so the hay! How bout just putting the idea off and not cloning the DNA of a T-Rex?! "CHERIO OL' LASS! What a marvelous idea you've ideated." Like seriously...much. Who even came up with that idea? But then again, maybe it's just an idea...maybe they just thought of it...but aint guna do it...I surely hope so..or like WHOA!

Even if they could clone a T-Rex, it's not like there would be a huge growth of the species. They would all be male or all female. Plus, if they had a male and female to clone from, they would likely die soon (like Dolly) and not be able to produce offspring.
We have so many endangered species - if we cannot even get the panda bear, polar bear, bald eagle population up, its clear they won't be able to do much with one little T-rex strand of DNA

Having DNA and "viable" DNA are two different things. Using living tissue is difficult enough to create a clone.
Perhaps it might be a good way to add to biodiversity in the future. Mother nature may take a few hundred thousand years to bring back large reptilians.

It was not actual DNA, I believe they found protines. They can not clone a dino yet.
Why do it? Just think of all the stuff we could learn!
Plus it would just be cool!
(And it would be funny for a paleontologist to get hazard pay for work!)
