Balancing follows fairly simple rules:
The lowest coefficient of a chemical is 1
The sum of coefficients x subscipts of each element on the reactant side must equal the sum on the other side.

With that in mind:
#1. We have 2 oxygens on the left, but one on the right. We can double the H2O on the right, but this gives us 4 H on the right. To balance this, we double the H2 on the left.
2H2+ O2 -> 2 H2O
#2 We have 8S on the left but 1 on the right. We can make the right hand side 8SO3, but this gives us 24 O. 12O2 can supply this.
S8 + 12O2 -> SO3
#3 We have 2O on the right, so we need to double HgO. Now we have 2 Hg on the left and one on the right, so we double the Hg on the right.
2 HgO -> 2Hg + O2
