But Great Britain's violent crime rate has more then doubled since and is now higher then the US.

To answer the question, ignore the spaced-out ideas of the 60s generation, teach our children good moral values, and raise our children with discipline so they end up as good citizens. The number of guns is immaterial. The US had a much higher gun per person rate in years past but nowhere near the violent crime or gun-related crime rates that we now have. The decline started with the communist-inspired ideas from the 60s and the redefining of liberalism to Marxism

Was in New York at the time...(I'm from London UK) Some stupid woman on the TV news , arguing to retain gun laws, said" If others had guns on the campus they could have shot this guy and stopped the killings" (something to that effect). True, but if US gun laws were similar to UK, it is far less likely he would have had a gun anyway. OK, so there have been a few stabbings etc in UK recently..... would take a very fast guy to stab 33 people to death!!!
US gun law states "The right to bear arms as part of a local militia". Fine...this reflects the wild west "Posse", not the present day.
Best thing the USA could do would be to ban private ownership of firearms....period.

I personally think the person who did the VTech shootings only did it so he would be rembembered for years to come, and now some one elce is going to want to be rembembered longer, so now they will go kill more people, the only thing thats really going to stop people from doing stuff like this is not giving them publicity, I know alot of people out there will disagree with me, bc they think everyone should know who done it...but think about it, if they dont tell u in the news how many people are killed and they dont say who done it, the next copycat will think twice bc they know they wont be rembembered, and it will eventually stop bc they are no numbers to go by. How many people were killed in VTech? now someone is going to say " wow he only killed this many people I bet I can double it" and now twice as many people will be killed in the next school shootout or bombing

Don't be deceived. It doesn't matter how strict the gun laws in your country are.If someone has a game plan in their head that they are on a mission of mass destruction, your laws are merely an annoyance to what they are ultimately wishing to achieve.
