Hamlet for one, Macbeth comes in a great second, Othello and King Lear are definites. the symbolism in Hamlet and Macbeth are the most complex, most astonishing and great writing of the common era. both terrible tragedies heaped with symbolic morality and religious satire

"Hamlet" and "King Lear."

The latter is not quite as famous as the former, but in my opinion is far more tragic. By the end of Hamlet, one really expects everyone to be dead. But what makes "King Lear" so sad is that things have been bad early on, but towards the end, it looks like everything is going to work out...and then everyone dies anyway.
