is it true that chlorine in the gas tank kills the engine?

my friend and i were just jokin that were gonna mess with each others cars and stuff and i was saying im gonna sugar his tank and hes like im gonna put bleach in urs, and he swears that it works, i dont want to find out but does it work

Yes, on Myth Busters they did a test and that Bleach was the number 1 item that can kill an engine the fastest, believe it or not it takes a long time for sugar to kill an engine.
