Another way that one knows that the girl is going thru puberty is by the growth of her breasts and also getting hair on the outer genital area and under her arms and filling out a little bit when it comes to size of body so that she can have that period.

Yes, guys do go thru puberty. They start to get hair on their faces as well as under the arms and other areas but their voice starts to change, get taller when it comes to height and muscles get stronger (this has to do with the testosterone levels starting to kick in). Because of the testosterone a young man may start to have what is called wet dreams.

You can also find out more about the hormonal changes of both young men and young women by going to WebMD and above all else talking to both your mom and dad about this.

Wow--that's over-simplified to the max!

Boys going through puberty: genitals grow larger in proportion to their body. Pubic, axillary (underarm) and facial hair growth starts. Possibly other body hair--chest, back, etc., but this is secondary and varies widely; really doesn't mean anything. Voice changes to a lower pitch, except there's a time when it seems uncontrollable and "cracked" as one word may come out high, the next low, the third in a froggy voice. The ever-popular acne shows up.

Now, your health teacher wasn't wrong--boys pretty much go through puberty with an erection, which seems to last forever. And they'll probably have nocturnal emissions (wet dreams) in which they'll release semen in their sleep.

Your teacher just left out a lot of stuff.
