I had my lawn sprinkler system turned off by the lawn sprinkler maintenance guy for the winter season. Every year I have him to come back to do what it needs to be done for spring time. I am just wondering can I just turn the water on and have it run without his help? Is it as easy as just turn the faucet back on and program the timer?

It is just about that easy. Turn it on, then test each circuit. Check each sprinkler head to see that it is working correctly and program the box to suit your schedule.

Worst case, something doesn't work and you have to call the Pro. Best case you save the service charge.

Shoot, give it a try. Do you have any instructions anywhere. Make sure that there isn't a valve inside the house that you also have to turn on. There's usually a "shut off" valve inside the house so that the outside faucet can get turned on so the water can kind of drain out of the system. I don't know if that's your set up though.

Yes. Its no big deal to turn on. Its more important to have a professional close it because they have the equipment to blow out the lines. Just turn it on and check the sprinkler heads.

Give it a try. The worse that can happen is you need to call them in to turn it on. So what's the harm in you trying it? Go for it.
