Check the Better Business Bureau in your city. The Powers schools are franchises (and thus not regulated), and many are scams.

I went when I was a teenager. They told me they 'wanted' me for print ads and commercials. But it was really just a sales pitch to buy their classes. At the time it was $1000; I don't know what it is now.
All the classes were one hour long and I didn't feel they were extensive enough for the money that was paid. However they told me I could go back and retake any of the classes over again. I never got my headshots taken, I think that might have cost extra but I can't remember why I didn't get that done.
They give you dates and times of open calls held at their place for various things. You can go in and audition. A friend of mine landed an infomercial from one of them.
Hope this helps. They kind of give you a crash course on basic things you need to know for basic situations and then the rest is up to you. They also will try to get you to pay your way out to the annual LA talent pow-wow where supposedly alot of people are 'discovered'. I never went.

Any of the appearing/modeling colleges are basically that, colleges. I went to one whilst i became in seventh grade, the bathroom Casablancas one. they could't truly get you modeling or appearing jobs, so as that they gained't make you a "famous man or woman" or something like that. they're basically instructions which you pass to the place they have a pair of appearing days, and function days the place they instruct you the thank you to coach make up, what colorings look best on you, a thank you to do the "kind walk", a thank you to do your hair, etc. on the tip of mine they had us do a fashion teach kind element and we even have been given a image shoot (which became truly cool) So, in case you have the money and are not waiting for to have them make you a familiar actress or kind, that's exciting.

Avoid them at all costs. There are better choices out there! Post another question stating what you were hoping to get out of going there so people can make better suggestions. Go to WorkingActors.com and go to the training section. You can look up many classes and workshop teachers there who won't rip you off.

I went to them in the city and they're really good. But they're very expensive. It depends on if you have the money.
