Many years ago I experienced standing in the corner with a dunce cap on. I was physically abused by being hit across the knuckles with a ruler. Both were for minor infractions. However, I approve of tougher forms of discipline. Being "scared straight" or having the line between right and wrong emphasized is an individual thing and you have to hope that the teacher has been trained in psychology to know what discipline needs to be applied. This does not just apply to Catholics but to all persons of any age or occupation. I challenge you to do a study of those who are in prison to find out how many have had some discipline in their life. I think it would be very few. Fair and tough love helps us all to physchology.

Don't you see? This has nothing to do with the uniform, it's what you did with it, and the one wearing it at the time - that's what's important.

While I think your mom's punishment is a little strange, certainly creative, I am not against it.

The point is, wearing said uniform is, I would imagine, extremely humiliating. Am I right?

Well, how do you think that girl felt when you lifted up her skirt? No less humiliating, I'm sure.

Your mom wants you to feel every bit as humiliated as you made that girl feel, so you better understand what you did to her. That constitutes fair punishment in my book.

What you did was wrong and you know it your-selve. I don't understand why Catholics allow such short skirts. When sitting in class I'm sure the male teachers are starring at the blackboard. Yeah right!

Yes it is fair because you will soon learn that when you do bad things you will get punished, so if you do bad things to other people then you must suffer the consequences.

Maybe you won't lift any one's skirt up anymore after one day of wearing one yourself.

Oh yeah! Go mom! Now you'll never do it again, will you? That's what punishment is all about.
