On Akron U's campus we have Hungry Howie's. They have a yellow synthetic that passes as cheese. If you actually chew your food as I do, it does not emulsify but turns into a ball. I guess some who scarf actually think it's good.
Does your local have fast food that mysteriously stays in business?

This is true. when I was in college - Loras College - there was a place called Itza Pizza. They called it that because people were always asking, " what is it?" that is bad! and it was.

I go to the University of Waterloo, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. When I was in residence, 3 years ago, we often had "Sea nuggets" for dinner. I asked what was in them and the lunch lady said "assorted sea meats". I can't think of anything more disgusting than that. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode when Mr. Burns uses 6-pack plastic can holders to scrape the sea bottom.

the food is good at my campus, real cheese an all, much of the food is cooked to order

My first semester at school, I go to Wilberforce, In Ohio, it was horrible! You would look at it and knew you would have Diarrhea for the next week....But this semester has gotten better...I don't eat in our cafe. that much, I have to be starving!
