What do you classify as great tone...guitarwise anyway.
I would say that a marshall jcm900 being played with a gibson les paul with hot wound P90s is great tone.

you people obviously dont have any idea what tone is....tone has nothing to do with backup singers or your mom's voice or holiday inn...this is just stupid...plain styoopiddd

My personal favorite of all tones is the one that made my Mom respond with "Young man, don't you DARE take that tone with me!!"

I'm not to particular to the Gibson stuff so I would take your mix put in my Charvel and my buddies Factor for bass then get some hot backup chicks to wind up.
