DESERTED ISLAND.. .ONE FOR THE MEN ONE FOR THE WOMEN..

EVENTUALLY THEY WOULD ALL DIE OR KILL ONE ANOTHER.

WHY GIVE THEM AN EASY WAY OUT..
MY DAD ALWAYS SAID THAT'S WHY GOD CREATED ISLANDS.. FOR THE PEOPLE THAT NEED TO BE THERE.

NO WAY OFF... NO SUPPLY DROPS.. LIVE OFF OF THE LAND FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE OR DIE....

I KNOW IT'S INHUMANE , BUT WHO GIVES A SHI T FOR THE PAEDOPHILE WHO MOLESTS A CHILD.. OR THE PERSON WHO ROBS AND KILLS SOMEONE FOR THE $40 THAT WAS IN THEIR POCKET

It is not an effective way of preventing or reducing crime.
many people support it because of concerns about killers being released into their communities and because they don't know about the issues surrounding the death penalty. Here are answers to some questions often asked about the system. All the answers are sourced below.

Isn't the death penalty cheaper than keeping criminals in prison?
The death penalty costs much more than life in prison. Much of the extra costs is due to the complicated nature of both the pre trial investigation and of the trials (involving 2 separate stages, mandated by the Supreme Court) in death penalty cases. There are more cost effective ways to prevent and control crime.

What about the risk of executing innocent people?
Over 120 people on death rows have been released with evidence of their innocence, many having already served over 2 decades on death row.

Doesn't DNA keep new cases like these from happening?
DNA is available in less than 10% of all homicides. It is not a guarantee against the execution of innocent people.

Doesn't the death penalty prevent others from committing murder?
No reputable study shows the death penalty to be a deterrent. Homicide rates are higher in states that have it than in states that do not. Most killers don't think about the consequences anyway. They do not think they will be caught (if they think at all.)

So, what are the alternatives?
Life without parole is now on the books in 48 states. It means what it says. Supermax prisons are terrible places to spend the rest of your life. Life without parole is less expensive than the death penalty.

What about the very worst crimes?
The death penalty isn’t reserved for the “worst of the worst,” but rather for defendants with the worst lawyers. When is the last time a wealthy person was sentenced to death, let alone executed??

Doesn't the death penalty help families of murder victims?
Not necessarily. Murder victim family members across the country argue that the drawn-out death penalty process is painful for them and that life without parole is an appropriate alternative.

So, why don't we speed up the process?
Many of the 123 innocent people released from death row had already been there for over 2 decades. If the process is speeded up we are sure to execute an innocent person.

But don’t Americans prefer the death penalty as the most serious punishment?
Not any more. People are rethinking their views, given the facts and the records on innocent people sentenced to death. According to a Gallup Poll, in 2006, 47% of all Americans prefer capital punishment while 48% prefer life without parole. Americans are learning the facts and making up their minds using common sense, not eye for an eye sound bites.

I think rapist's and child molesters should have the death penalty. There is no cure for these type of people.

I think life in prison is a much more horrible way to be, as you have A LONG TIME to think about what you did, and your basic human rights are taken away from you. The death penalty is to me, kind of like an easy way out.

I would be concerned with those who have already been killed (murdered) while they were proven innocent after death. How many other's are sitting in jail that are truly innocent?

I wouldn't want to be the judge who handles those types of cases!

Tree, rope, done.

When I was younger, I was like, "oh, no one should die", which is normal, I suppose, but the more I learned about the way 'some people' are, well if they are truly proven guilty, then just put them all out of our misery and be done with it.

Just a few asap executed examples should be all that was needed, you'd think...

I would like to add that this may seem harsh, but damn!

Actions have consequences for all of us.

It's a whole lot easier for those of us that have never committed these crimes to want to be kind to a criminals (thrown away by their own deeds) rights.

But, what about the rights of those that these criminals have wasted, for whatever reason?

If they got what it takes to just go out killing folks, well they should suffer their own kind consequences.

Using a rope and tree would save on wasting ammo, drugs or electricity, and they are reusable.

Anyway, i'm gonna go play somewhere else, as these issues aren't something I usually study on...

I'm all for it, and I think we should get rid of this death row thing. when they are convicted and get the death penalty then they're guilty as sin. I think that when they do a sick crime, they deserve to die. they should be killed in the most inexpensive possible way, like blugited to death with a rock. since they're going to die anyway, why should we pay taxes for them to die in a 'humane' way when they deserve pain and misery?
I think another good way to execute them, this might be the best, is for them to be chained up to a wall and have a sharp splintery piece of wood thrust through their stomach. they get what they deserve!
I think they should give sexual offenses the death penalty as well.
there's my opinions, and I know that some people reading this will disagree, but I don't care what you say, you won't change my mind. you can either agree with me, or you can be WRONG!

I think when someone has done something bad enough to get the death penalty, they should do it and not wait until the person is close to dying of old age and waste a ton of money with appeals and feeding them, Just do it!♥

I believe in the old, "An eye for an eye!" If you rape some1 let the cell mates have their way w/u! So you can feel what the person you hurt felt like. If you murder, u should die also. why should some1 kill a person and then have a chance at a life later, the person u killed won't get a 2nd chance. (or the family of the victim to see them again) "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time" right?

I am mainly against it except in the instance where they are absolutely positive the victim killed another person. I kill if someone takes someone elses life they should be killed. If you can not 100% positive they should not kill the person because 1 out of every 8 people killed by the death penalty did not do the crime they were killed for.

That's a hard one to answer. But since DNA and all the scientific stuff is available these days, pretty much the person is either guilty or not.

I think if a person kills someone a certain way, then they should die that same way. Fair is fair.........

And I think that if we were more swift with punishment for crimes, then it would deter more crimes from being committed in the future.

I'm for the death penalty. I think the way it's being carried out is fine. But if they brought back public hangings...I'd attend.

i believe in the death penalty because I think there are people out there who deserve to die... I dont think it should be limited to people who kill authorities...I believe we should have it for child molesters and the like...why should I have to pay to keep someone like that in prison??? I say kill them all. I like the electric chair.
