I'm a fairly good kid, and I get decent grades. I stay out of trouble, so why is my bedtime so early? :(

you should talk to your parents about it. my parents stopped giving me a bed time. you have to prove to them you will go to bed when you are tired, and at a pretty constant time, and when they earn your trust then they will let you stay up till you want. and you also have to make sure you get up without them waking you up, otherwise they will think you stayed up too late. but remember you should talk to them about it.

No, it isn't too early. Sleep is important for health. Obviously your parents care about you very much. I cannot imagine why a parent would allow their kids to stay up late on a school night.

Great job on the grades, staying out of trouble, and being an all-around good kid. Getting enough rest is a big part of the reason that you are the way you are.

In a few years, you'll be wishing you could go to bed earlier and get enough sleep!

It's early, but that's a good thing. You're at the age where you'll have to be getting up early for school, and I would suggust about 8 hours of sleep for you.

Your bedtime has nothing to do with your grades or your behavior. It has everything to do with your health. Sports and being active are very popular among your age so you must get a lot of sleep.

Honestly, I can't say that a teen your age should be getting to bed at midnight. Yes, it is early, but I would go no further then 10:30 pm. If you do go farther then that you could have problems coming as you grow, such as poor learning skills.

First of all you are a teenager and although you think you know best, there are studies out there that have been done to prove you wrong. Typically as the body goes through puberty you need more sleep for your body to adjust itself to the chemical changes going on. You should have between 8 and 10 hours of sleep right now. Take into account that most high schools start between 7:15 and 8:00, you should be going to sleep between 8 and 9 to get enough rest.

That isn't too early on school nights. My kids had a 10:00 bedtime on week nights.
I had to be in bed at 9:00 when I was going to school. Your Folks are just watching out for your best interest.

I have no idea, I'm almost gonna be 16 and I don't have a bedtime so I usually sleep at 12 or 1.
The good thing about having a bedtime is that you aren't totally exhausted during the day and it's easier to focus, but the bad thing is don't you have to stay up late for homework or hang out with friends and stuff?
But still it's not that bad depending on what your priorities are.

I'll be 16 in November and I usually get in bed around 10 or 10:30 on weekdays. It's only because teenagers need wayyyy more sleep than adults do. At least eight to nine hours of sleep a night. If I fall asleep around 12 am, I'm usually extremely tired in the mornings. I have to wake up around 5:45 to go to school.

It's only because you need sleep. I mean, I'm sure you don't fall asleep right away when you get in bed. I know I don't. It usually takes me one to one and a half hours to fall asleep...which could be why I have to get in bed so early. :P

I think that's a good time. Even though your getting through about the middle of your teenage years, you need sleep. I sound like an adult now but I'm like 14. It's good to get the sleep because you have enough energy in the morning and you have enough energy for the day. I have been getting to bed late lately trust me, it doesn't work out too good when you go to bed at 12 and wake up at 6.

Do you have a TV in your room? When I was that age I could barely make it through Johnny Carson's monologue at 10:30 before crashing out. So I'd go to bed and watch TV and probably fell asleep by 10:45.
