Changing their perceptions.
The need to find meaning and purpose is to hold a set of beliefs about life the way that it exists. There is also a certain amount of "ego" involved in such questions. It is when we set aside our own ego and help others that meaning and purpose can be experienced.

You either find your purpose in values that you have or discover purpose in the values you create ( Nietzsche's Superman). And if you find yourself without purpose and don't care, then you can join me for a beer.
