While at the dermatologist today, I lifted myself up on the examination table. My weight on my fingers as I pushed myself back and my thumb gave out - going the wrong way.

I heard a pop and whispered some very obsene words to myself.

I can move it, but it hurts really bad. Could I still move it if I broke it? or you think I just sprung it?

You can't always tell if you've broken a bone by whether or not you can move it. I've seen bad breaks in a thumb but yet it would move. Perhaps if you soak it tonight in warm epsom salts water, it will relieve it for overnight. If you're still concerned in the morning, you may need to see a doctor. You might have torn a ligament or just sprained it.

It could possibly be broken because people deal with pain differently. My cousin broke her wrist but could still move it and she had to get a cast.
