When did Genghis Khan die and How?

Question

Mostly how did he die, but i cant find out anywhere how he died or why. Please help, this is for my personal knowledge only and I just wanted to find this out.

Wikipedia says : "On August 18, 1227, during his last campaign with the Western Xia Empire of the Tanguts, Genghis Khan died. The reason for his death is uncertain. Many assume he fell off his horse, due to old age and physical fatigue; some contemporary observers cited prophecies from his opponents. The Galician-Volhynian Chronicle alleges he was killed by the Tanguts. There are persistent folktales that a Tangut princess, to avenge her people and prevent her rape, castrated him with a knife hidden inside her and that he never recovered."

A daring History professor at North Georgia College and State University says : "During the campaign, Genghis Khan fell from his horse when it startled while the emperor hunted. Although he eventually died from internal injuries as a result of the fall, he did not allow his followers to halt the campaign."

My Encyclopedia Britannica says "He finally withdrew in 1223 and did not lead his armies into war again until the final campaign against Hsi Hsia in 1226-27. He died on August 18, 1227."

In 1217, Genghis Khan's advance from the east halted the Order's expansion, and Altaïr suspected Khan's progress was helped by a Piece of Eden. Thus, Altaïr, Maria and Darim (an accomplished crossbowman) left for Mongolia to assassinate the warlord while Sef was left behind to care for his wife and two daughters. In Altaïr's place, Malik was named the temporary head of the Order.[4]
In Mongolia, Altaïr and company liaised with the Assassin Qulan Gal, and the four traveled to nearby Xing-ging in Xu province, which was being besieged by the Mongols. Darim found a vantage point to look over the Mongol encampment, disposing of any guards who might notice them, while Altaïr and Qulan Gal infiltrated the camp. However, Altaïr's stealth skills had deteriorated as he aged, and he was detected by a guard who wounded him before falling at the hand of Qulan Gal. Qulan Gal helped Altaïr escape the camp before rendezvousing with Darim, and together the younger men assassinated Khan. Their mission complete, the family returned home.[4]

According Assassin's Creed book written by Oliver Bowden, the master of all assassins- Altair- killed Genghis Khan. But I am not sure whether it is true. The reason for his death remain uncertain according to many researchers
