Cherry barbs are a very peaceful and small barb that needs a peaceful tank without harsh currents. A low hardness and pH is also good, but not needed to keep them happy. They really like a well planted tank, but leave them plenty of swimming room in the middle levels of the tank and keep them in a group of at least 6. They love brine shrimp and all types of worms, but also need flake or small pelleted food for a balanced diet.

Cherry barbs are great community fish. Keep them with other active small fish in a school of 6 or more. Keep the water clean and don't overstock the tank.
