Use a washcloth, always. Be sure the washcloth is clean and wet, before applying to your face. You may want to rinse the daily outside dirt from your face before applying any special creams or medicines.
Follow the directions to do this. Between applications, rinse your washcloth well with hot water, then cool it.
Follow the routine. Wash your forehead, then your outer cheeks or nose, depending on which suits you. Then your mouth and cheeks. Lastly, your neck, and don't forget behind your ears. Some parts you may want to scrub, such as the outsides of your nose, and above your eyebrows. Some places you will want to take care with. Use an astringent or alcohol.
Diet is important with skin conditions. And use plenty of clean washcloths. Target sells about a dozen for $5. I hope things improve.

Do not rub, or scrub your face. If you have acne you need to be as gentle as possible.

You should only wash your face once a day with cleaner, it would be good for you to wash at night, then in the morning just splash with lukewarm water, and blot. The temperature of the water at all times should be lukewarm. You should gently smooth the face wash onto your skin. Because you are acne prone you should rinse as soon as you've finished placing the face wash on your skin. I would suggest using Clarins MEN Active Face Wash 4.4 oz, this is what my husband uses, here's a link to take a look at it: http://www.scentiments.com/Product/SkuInfo.aspx?sku=9300

I use to work for a great dermatologist. She advised anyone with acne prone skin to wash in a lukewarm water with just plain soap ( I use Dove). I wash my face once in the morning, and before bed I give it 2 washes (mostly because of removing make-up). You never want to scrub your face with anything harsh as that just irritates you skin more. Just gently lather the soap with your hands and thoroughly wash your facial skin the same as you would wash your hands, gently but thoroughly. Then rinse by splashing water on your face until you no longer feel any soap residue on your skin. Pat dry with a clean towel. Just warm water is best-too hot or cold water can break capillaries under your skin, as well as harsh scrubbing. If you have oily skin, you could wash your face even three times a day if you want. Hope this info helps

Since you have acne prone skin it is best not to rub on your face hard, pick your pimples, or scrub. It is best to find a good cleanser for acne prone skin. Gently rub the cleaner around in a circular motion and rinse with warm water. Then rinse face with a little cool water. Add you toner afterwards or your acne cream on the spots and them leave skin alone. Your hands are the worse thing to put on your skin since they carry germs and oil to your face. Washing with your hands is fine though.

I wash with lukewarm water, I use my hands, & I wash my face with oil of olay foaming face wash. I do not have acne prone skin though...my face is just natually oily. I wash my face in the morning and before bed.
