Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

This is a really beautiful poem too!
Women have strengths that amaze us.
They carry children, they carry hardships, they carry burdens but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up for injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without new shoes so their children can have them.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a new marriage. Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They have sorrow at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world spin!
Women do more than just give birth.
They bring joy and hope.
They give compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have a lot to say and a lot to give.

Your mom would love to spend time with you, I'm sure. See if there is a tea room somewhere, treat the two of you to a pedicure (and spend time together), go to a movie, or do something you know she loves - like the museum or an art fair. A card is wonderful, so are gifts, but there is nothing like a nice day with your daughter!

If this doesn't work for you, cook her dinner, and.or treat her to a fab dessert, and have a nice cute card to give her.

Make her something! Like a picture frame decorated in the theme of something she likes, or a small scrapbook or photo album or beaded jewelry. There are lots of things a 13-yr-old can make without a lot of money or special equipment. Just be creative. Moms love thing that come from the heart most of all.

I'm sure anything you come up with will be special to her. But let me give you a couple of suggestions or ideas, since you asked.

*How about a spa massage treatment? Most spas will have about 30-45 minute massages for about $50.

*Or a manicure & pedicure? They're pretty relaxing, too.

*Maybe you could take her out to eat (just you & her) to a special dinner.

*Does she have a favorite perfume? Or maybe a nice blouse to go with her favorite skirt.

Perfume. Even if she wears only one perfume, we always like a new perfume. Something different. Just ask the lady at the counter.

Expensive candle and one of the big ones. We love them, but often will not pay the price.

What I did for my mom was set my alarm clock and got up earlier than her and made her breakfast in bed... You could also make something for her, you know, from the heart! Even if it is just a card, something you make can mean more than something that is store bought.

find out if there's any spas around the area and get her a gift certificate to go towards whatever services like a massage, pedicure/nails, or a facial..she would love that and it would give her a chance to unwind and relax...

My mom really just like things that I make, spend time making something from her, it probably doesn't have to even be good, just knowing that you worked hard on something for her usually makes a mom happy...actually, my mom doesn't like me spending money on her...
