I'm sorry, but the fact that you used 'LOL' in your statement really threw me off.

Me personally, I just like the reference work that you cite. Some of the other things that you missed while dissing rednecks (although I don't see how that figures):
ABC News Poll. April 22, 2007.
Although the poll respondents support stricter gun control, they also oppose the sale of handguns, except to law enforcement officers.
Also, they do not believe that stricter gun control laws would reduce the amount of violent crime in this country.
Also, they believe that more regulation is unnecessary and would like stricter enforcement of existing laws.
In addition, the majority of respondents to this poll are not firearm owners.
Pew Research Center for the People & the Press survey conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International. April 18-22, 2007.
When asked if they would favor or oppose a law that banned the sale of handguns the majority said oppose.
Associated Press-Ipsos poll conducted by Ipsos-Public Affairs. April 17-19, 2007.
When asked how often do you worry about becoming a victim of gun violence 65% stated rarely/never.
67% of these respondents were not gun owners.
When asked, Do you personally know anyone who has been a victim of a crime that involved a gun in the past three years, or not? 78% said no.
Gallup Poll. Oct. 9-12, 2006.
When asked, "Do you think there should or should not be a law that would ban the possession of handguns, except by the police and other authorized persons?" 66% said should not.
When asked, "In terms of gun laws in the United States, which of the following would you prefer to see happen: enforce the current gun laws more strictly and NOT pass new gun laws, or pass new gun laws in addition to enforcing the current laws more strictly?" 53% stated enforce current laws.
Also, when asked, "Do you think having a gun in the house makes it a safer place to be or a more dangerous place to be?" The majority; 47% stated safer.
So really if you were looking to somehow give the impression that the majority of Americans were against gun ownership you picked the wrong survey. Your link listed below........

Im all for gun control but that study doesn't prove anything. This nation was built on protecting the rights of the minority...so in essence you actually gave the rednecks the support they needed to prove that gun rights should be maintained. I believe that we should have stricter gun control laws...but every law we have Based on the Constitution was created with protecting the minority interests in mind...you just made a point for the other side...besides one study does not make a majority opinion.

Did you down load the PDF file and read the questions? 58% said that making gun laws more strict was the right thing to do The tougher gun laws are based mostly on requiring background checks at gun shows (92% in favor) Only 24% stated that handguns should be banned for all except the police 46% stated that current gun laws need to be enforced more strictly 47% more laws 44% were in favor of a ban on assault weapons (51% against) 62% think that there should be ban on clips that hold more than 10 rounds. It is apparent that these fools (including Gallup) do not know the difference between a magazine and a clip. A magazine holds rounds and a clip is used in helping to load magazines. Your premise is a bit off because most of the people just do not want it to be so easy to buy a gun at a gun show, they want background checks for everyone, including FFL Dealers.

And yet, the majority of citizens oppose laws that would ban the sale of handguns, and the majority feel that stricter enforcement of existing laws is a better approach to controlling gun violence.
Funny how many different slants you can get from polls.
PS - it's not just "rednecks" that own or support the ownership of guns.

Read past the first question in the poll. It clearly indicates that most people SAY they support stricter gun control until you ask "Why? or What kind?". Why asked that type of question, they do not support gun control or believe it will do any good.

Did you even read your own poll?
A clear majority do not believe stricter gun control laws will prevent or deter crime.
Sorry, my gay friend. Looks like even in this, the rednecks win.

"If I had a gun and nobody else can, I could be god.. I could kill anyone I wanted to and nobody could stop me."
That's the thinking that leads to these mass shootings.. If there is even a thought that somebody might have access to a gun.. then that creates doubt if someone could get away with what they were planing.
Mass shootings don't happen where people expect others to be armed. There are not shootings at gun shows.
Gun free zones CAUSE shooting.
You might think.. I don't know what I'm taking about.. well.. I was involved in one.. and you can bet your *** I got a gun now.

That is the biggest b.s. i have ever read, just because they poll less than a thousand people, probably government employees. Doesn't speak for everyone, we are given this right by the Constitution, so we can protect ourselves from oppressive government, and lo and behold look what our government is like.
